The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Arizona is a non-profit where wishes began in Phoenix in 1980. We are the original founding chapter. The inspiration for Make-A-Wish, the largest wish-granting organization in the world, was the dream of a 7 ½ year old Phoenix boy with leukemia named Chris Greicius, who wished to be a policeman. | The Starter Club offers junior sand volleyball tournaments and clinics for boys and girls ages 12 to 18, as well as 11 and under, in the Phoenix/Ahwatukee, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe and Queen Creek areas.
There are NO TRYOUTS because every player starts. The Starter Club was created to allow ALL players the opportunity to play, whether just starting out or refining skills with a "fun-first, competition-second" philosophy. The Starter Club will provide player statistics, Facebook photo albums, Twitter live broadcast on game-days, YouTube video footage, and Blogger weekly press releases to DIGG news, which will help players feel like a "pro" when they join.
